Ravaldia is a large, populous, industrious city located in the center of The Meld, along the Attlestone River.
For decades, Ravaldia was a peaceful nation that aimed to further scientific advancement through invention and industry. Its governing body was a council consisting of seven of the city’s experts in various subjects, from farming to smithing to marketing. Many groundbreaking creations were invented in Ravaldia, most notably that of the steam engine, which began to revolutionize the city’s infrastructure and manufacturing.
But twelve years ago, a sorcerer named Yarticus Triconocule staged a brutal coup, murdering most of the councilmembers, and installed himself as Mage Emperor of Ravaldia. With Triconocule’s rule, Ravaldia’s ambitions to subjugate its surrounding neighbors grew, and wars broke out.
Today, Ravaldia remains a popular place to live for those indigenous to the region due to its active military presence and high level of technology. For others, the city is a dangerous place where one might disappear for a comment made afoul of Triconocule. The city has grown poor as its resources have been hoarded or expended in war efforts, and many in the city starve. Famine has spread throughout the city, especially its slums.
